Cluj - Romania
The city of Cluj is home to approximately 300,000 people, and its over 2000 year history gives it a special charm. It is a central hub in the region for those seeking job opportunities and a place of innovative development.
The YWAM staff here work in several key areas which visiting teams can join in with, such as the village of Mera (15 mins from Cluj) where YWAM teams have helped to build houses, run day camps for kids, and hold regular small group meetings for those they have met through their ministry there. Established in 1998, YWAM Constanța is a missional community that has partnered with many organisations and churches in the city to benefit those living there. Through the years, the staff have pioneered various ministries, working in poor communities, particularly with children and youth, and running a café for students, which continue to grow and impact the city for Jesus!
Other ministry opportunities might include visiting the Shuman centre, an educational facility which focuses on Christian values, literacy, and teaching children about different cultures.
On the day off, there are lots of beautiful places to see, such as the Botanical Garden, National History Museum, or the Matei Corvin House, a gothic home which was the birthplace of a 15th century Hungarian King.
